What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser to recognise you on your next visit. It is used to keep a session open, to remember preferences or, far more often, to measure and profile visitor behaviour.

What this website does

None of that. The website is made of static pages and stores nothing on your device:

• no cookies, neither technical nor third party;
• no use of browser storage (local storage, session storage, IndexedDB);
• no analytics or traffic measurement tools;
• no pixels, tags or advertising scripts;
• no content loaded from external domains: even the typefaces are served from here.

The language you are reading is stored nowhere: it is part of the page address. Changing language changes the address, and that is all.

Why there is no banner

A consent banner exists to collect permission for tools that gather data. There are none here, so there is nothing to permit. Adding a pointless banner would only be one more annoyance.

Server logs, which are a different thing

Cookies should not be confused with the technical logs of the server. Like any website, the infrastructure delivering these pages notes the requests it receives (IP address, date, page requested). That is not a cookie and needs no consent, but it is fair that you know: the privacy page describes it in detail.

And the Coverly application?

The application is a different thing from this website. To work, it has to keep you signed in, so it uses the technical means needed to maintain the session. It is all described in the privacy notice published inside the application.

If it ever changes

If we introduce a tool that collects data in future, we will update this page before switching it on and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent.
